Life Changes

A few days ago I started a project which was born out of desperation at my current state of affairs. The background is simple, I am absolutely without any kind of life at all. I have no livelihood, no work, nothing to validate my existence on this earth. For many years I have thought that perhaps I am ready to die and maybe that should be something that I should prepare for. That plan didn't work simply because it is stupid. Besides there is no assurance that what I'm going to get in the next life is not going to be more of the same life that I am now having.

It therefore became a necessity to make use of this life and the only way to do it is to get out of the rut that I am in and change my life. The only method that I am going to use is my mental faculties. I am going to change my life by changing the way I think. This is very simple and very direct. There is no other way more simple and more direct.

Anyway, here's Cagayan de Oro City with another one: Cagayan de Oro City. My Cebu City site has made pr1, surprise, surprise. Dumaguete is still in the boondocks as far as Google goes but Dumaguete has made some headway. Jai Alexander rocks!

There were a few things that I noticed when I began to undertake the promotion of Ching's World foremost of which is the realization that there are a number of websites which competed for the same keywords.

Retiring Ching's World

I am in the prcess of retiring Ching's World. This means returning my ip address back to my isp and re-directing the domain to a static page which will serve as its internet presence, a mere ghost of its former self. It also means powering down my servers and going back to the lower bandwidth that I had contracted from my isp. It was a sad feeling at first, a feeling of loss and defeat. I could comfort myself with the thought that Napoleon Bonaparte himself had occasions to retreat strategically in order to conserve and consolidate his forces.

I could derive some consolation from that thought but the fact of the matter is, I have brought Ching's World to where it could go and now, I am unable to support its continued existence in the luxury of its own dedicated servers. It has been a great experiment and the lessons learned from it will remain cherished and remembered long after it is gone.


The domain itself is registered until January 26th and I do not know if I will have the luxury of keeping it longer than that.

Nothing persists for very long

Try as we might, we are impermanent. We pass this way but once and never return. We might be able to go back to the same place but not to the same time. Ching's World was a dream and the dream has grown. The dream has taken on a new dimension, bigger and more robust. But, as to how long it will last, no one knows. Still for now, it exists, it breathe and grows. It persists in this impermanent firmament we call the Internet. It speeds around to where it must go, to whoever beckons it and peruse its pages. It seeks to become identified with Cagayan de Oro City. Its dream is small, tiny, a seed which could grow if it should. Like a seed, Cagayan de Oro City could grow to be something bigger, brighter, smarter. This is the hope. It could finally become Cagayan de Oro City.

Why would it want to become Cagayan de Oro City? Why indeed? It could very well be another city, another planet or another asteroid. But it wants to be Cagayan de Oro City for now and that seems like a good enough goal. So, for now it is Cagayan de Oro City and let the other manifestations or expressions of existence wait in the wings for their turn to pirouette and turn and twirl because at this instance Ching's World is Cagayan de Oro City.

Ching's World

This has been a really exhilirating morning, a morning that spilled over from a good day that was yesterday and I am predicting that more good things are in store for me. Last night, I opened the search pages to find Ching's World comfortably sitting on page 29. I check these pages daily for Ching's World and its status on the search pages. Doing this chore this morning, I was gratified that my other support pages were in page 1 when lo and behold, I saw Ching's World on the top spot on the first page. This was truly amazing as I never dreamed it would happen at all. Ching's World has finally come to its own.

There is one thing that has eluded my efforts so far. Cagayan de Oro City is a favorite city of mine and I would surely be glad to see Cagayan de Oro City on the first page of the search results. Cagayan de Oro City used to go to page 16 and that was good enough for me but I have neglected it for a long time and now Cagayan de Oro City is nowhere to be found.

Ching's World beginnings

Ching's World began two years ago when I thought to myself that I should make a website that rocks. Of course, the best title would have to be Ching's World, that was paramount. Why is it paramount to have Ching's world as the website title you say? No rocket science is needed to figure out why Ching's World is the best title. It just simply is. As the Romans used to say: de gustibus non disputandum which roughly translates, when it comes to taste, there are no arguments.

As Lesley Gore sang, It's my party and I'll cry if I want to. It's my website and I'll call it whatever I want. The fact that it has my nickname doesn't make it any more difficult to decide that Ching's World is a damned good name for a website.
